Summertime, and the Linky is Thrifty + A few announcements

summertime
Wow guys, can you believe it is over already? What a fantastic lineup of ladies I had here! Some absolutely amazing projects! In the next week or so I hope to add a tab with thumbnails to all the projects that were shared (and yes, I still intend to finish and post a tutorial for Nicole’s dress yet, we’ll get to that.)
At the end of this post I’ll have a link party set up so you can all share your thrifty summertime tutorials/tips/ideas/adventures. The person with the most LIKES in the linky party will win a sewing machine pendant, so link up quick so you have more time to collect votes!
Now, onto the announcements:
Shop{thelaundry}line : I’m going to have to pull that project for the time being. Olivia is a monster active little thing so my sewing is reserved for naptimes, except that Nicole’s craft times are also reserved for that time period for the same reason. I’m spending what little crafting time I have on stuff for other people and I have some quilts, dresses, and home decor projects sitting neglected. I’m also halfways through creating a sleep sac pattern but not finding time to finish it… so when I reopen for business, I’ll have that in there as well. Its also possible that that is all I may have… things are pretty busy with Chris’ new business. I may have started my shop first but… his business is just a liiiiiiiiittle bit more profitable ;) I won’t be having a clearance sale, I like using my handmade items as gifts. :)
ON{thelaundry}LINE : I’m probably going to be taking a break for a week or two, I’m taking the kids for a mini vacation with a girlfriend of mine. I’m determined to enjoy this summer with the girls, hence this post being today instead of yesterday … Chris and his guys worked a few long/hard days this week but took about half a day off yesterday and we took the girls to a waterpark with some family! :) Family first of course, always, and I’m sure not one of you would disagree!
Lastly, the other sewing machine pendant thats up for winsies : Help me name my new dress form! I bought her off kijiji for a steal of a deal (under $100!) and I’m feeling the old lady names for her for some reason. Possibly something incredibly pretentious. I got some great suggestions on my facebook page the other day! The first person to suggest the name that I decide to go with wins one of the two sewing machine pendants I have to give away.
LINKY PARTY RULES/SETUP:
-Your project must be thrifty. This is a pretty broad topic, so it should be pretty easy to follow that.
-No links to etsy shops, blog posts only please.
-Link to a specific post, not to your blog in general, otherwise we may not be able to find your project!
-The linky will put the order at random.
-The linky party closes next Saturday, and the linky list will be left up with the Summertime, and the Living is Thrifty posts.
-Lastly, I would love for you to link back to this post with this button, or with a word link to the Summertime, and the Living is Thrifty event. That way your linkback will be to the Summertime, and the Living is Thrifty event instead of just my blog in general.

  1. I think you should name her "rose" or "Rose-Marie"

  2. My favourite 'old lady name' is Vi, short for Violet.

  3. For some reason I'm having flashbacks to Anne of Green gables... "Cordelia" Old lady-ish in an elegant sort of way

  4. Oioser!! Steel Magnolias immediately popped into my head!
