TUTU GIVEAWAY!

In honour of the CSN Stores review I’ll be doing (my change table arrived in the mail today! That’s a lot faster than I expected, we don’t have any room to set it up yet, but there’s my first part of the review… large items arrive quickly!) I am going to be giving something away, myself. I’d pretend to do a dramatic drumroll slash moment of suspense, except I’m pretty sure you all read that title already, so never mind. tutu3This giveaway is for this specific tutu! I would call this toddler-to-preschooler sized. It’s nearly ankle length on a two year old who has short legs like a one year old. Yup, that would be my kids sizing last year. I was kind of shocked this summer when I noticed she had legs. She’s in 3T pants now and as you can see, it’s below-the-knee to midcalf, depending on what you kiddo is doing. The elastic waist makes the sizing very flexible. You could put this on a five year old+ if you wanted to, it would just get shorter as you went along. Throw some leggings on and call it a day. (I’m partial to black and white striped leggings with a tutu. Love.)tutu4 The above picture probably has the closest to real-life color representation. In person it’s a light purple tutu with shots of fuschia. If you’re looking at this for a photo prop, it will photograph as a hazy white-purple with shots of pink.tutu-and-pearls I’ll note that that’s a silk scarf, not some long piece of TP. For the record. I’m sure you could care less about what she’s looking at and much more about how to win this tutu.

Click on the CSN Stores link and then do one of two things. Either:
A) leave a comment and tell me which piece of furniture you want on the site (very competitive pricing and free shipping on more expensive orders… especially tell me if you’re buying something so I can live vicariously through you, I love furniture!)
Or B) on the very top of the page, click on "View All 200+ CSN Stores.” Then leave a comment telling me which of the stores you’d be most likely to waste an hour or so browsing. Not that I ever waste time doing things like that.

To get twenty extra chances to win, come over and do all my laundry, including folding it and putting it away.

Don’t forget to make sure I can get ahold of you… if your comment is the one drawn randomly and your email address isn’t linked to your comment in some way, I’ll announce the winner and give them a week to contact me. If I don’t hear anything back, I’ll redo the draw.

CONTEST ENDS FRIDAY, JUNE 25, NOON CENTRAL TIME.

CONTEST IS OPEN TO ANYONE WITH A VALID MAILING ADDRESS IN CANADA AND THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.

Blog/Book Love – Inspirational Home

Have you read Inspirational Home? I have two copies of the book. I got them buy-one-get-one-free when Jeanne Winters had a special on her birthday. One of them will soon find a new home as a wedding gift to my new sister-in-law. Belated, because I keep forgetting to give it to her. haha.

Inspirational Home is full of trendy decorating ideas that use bible verses and scriptural references. I love it! Everything looks so amazing. Sometimes Christian-themed decor gets a bad rep for being cheesy, corny, or very pastel. This stuff is drop-dead-gorgeous, and DIY!

Check out Jeanne’s blog right now… she’s having another buy-one-get-one deal! This book is great on your shelf, on your coffeetable, or as a newlywed or housewarming gift. Totally recommend!

This post is not paid for, asked for, or suggested. I truly recommend this book purely on my own steam. :)

Speaking of my own steam… I’ve added hairclip flowers to tw*nkletw*nkle on facebook and will add them to etsy soon. Check out this adorable kid. Whose kid is that? Oh yeah… mine!

twnkletwnkleflowerI have been up to things and making things and stuff, but I can’t share all of it right now. I promise there are some fun and exciting things coming up though!

and then it goes downhill

First of all, I just want to put it out there, I’m really hungry right now. I’m really, really hungry and I should get up and make myself something to eat. But instead I’m sitting around blogging and thinking about how hungry I am. Why? I DONT KNOW. I guess there’s just nothing in the fridge calling my name, because we really need to do some groceries, and you like how I say “we” to make it sound like there is some other mysterious home executive in my house who is responsible for the fact that I’m sitting here thinking about how I am out of CoffeeMate Creamer and sandwich meat? I DONT WANT PEANUT BUTTER AND JAM. Now I know how my kid feels, I don’t want to eat anything when I don’t like the options, either. I should point out that I don’t want to put coffeemate and sandwich meat together into a meal. Add a few more key ingredients and I would have a numnum deli sandwich and a cup of coffee. Now I’m even hungrier and, quite frankly, I blame you. In entirety.

Now that I’ve decided it’s actually entirely your fault I’m hungry (don’t argue with me. Just apologize.) Here’s what happened when I was laying on the floor with my camera for no apparent reason yesterday. First, there was some awesome running. It has been noted by my sister in law that Nicole really jut likes to run in circles a lot. I can’t explain why, I don’t know. Those sweet leggings are tw*nkletw*nkle. For some reason she always wears them longer on one leg than the other. I don’t know. She’s only half mine, okay.030She was also moving her recliner around and drymopping the floor. So I mean, like I said, half mine. You like that drymop? NORWEX. I also tricked my husband into using it yesterday by telling him if he extended it long he could do most of the livingroom without getting off the couch. I was right, AND my floor was clean. Win/win.039 But then… suddenly, after the peak, the floor cleaning, the beauty…. WHAT IS THIS?! Fridge-rummaging? WHO DOES SHE THINK SHE IS?!041 042 044She had decided she wanted a sippy of milk. This is the part where I turned off the camera and skidded into the kitchen, otherwise the story would have ended with a wet mop and something like 2 1/2 litres of milk on the floor. Instead it ended with a sippy of milk only following the magical phrase MILK PLEASE MOM and a little chat about how when we want something from the fridge we ASK and don’t just TAKE. I’m all for her eventually being self-sufficient but seriously, kid, two and a half years is not the point where you start menu planning.

Speaking of menu planning. I should go do that. So that “we” don’t spend the last day before grocery day grumpy about being out of everything that costs $3453453456billion more at the Safeway I can walk to than it does at every other grocery store.

Now that I think about it, peanut butter and jam sounds delicious.

Just to let you know, I’m going to do a drawing through tw*nkletw*nkle soon. When my tw*nkletw*nkle facebook fan page reaches 100 fans, I’ll do a draw for a free tutu! On top of that, once I’ve got a few more things up in the etsy shop, I’ll do a draw here on the blog for a gift certificate, to celebrate the changes here at www.onthelaundryline.com (to join the tw*nkletw*nkle fan page, look over to the sidebar.)

tw*nkletw*nkle sneak peak

022 copy 025 copy 027 copy 028 copy

Here’s a few poorly-photographed sneak peaks. (upper skirt is 4T, lower is 6-12mos but claimed) I need to make some mannequins for pictures. I should see if I can sweet-talk my mom, I know she used to make those hide-and-seek toddler things. Today I’m working with some nice soft black-and-white striped knits.

To keep up-to-date on sneak peeks and previews, you can click on the badge on the right sidebar to join the facebook fan page.
